The success of STgenetics® sire lineup was seen around the globe following the release of the April 2024 Genetic Evaluations. Along with CAPTAIN who claimed top spots in the U.S., Canada and the UK, STgenetics® is home to the Canadian standout JOHNBOY and many other sires holding strong in the top 25 on the Top 100 International TPI® Bulls list. On this list provided by Holstein Association USA are DELUXE, COWEN, EPPY, UPSIDE, OUTCOME, TAMPA, HOLDON and RAPID.
CAPTAIN led the way on the Top 100 TPI® List at +3287 TPI and was also the highest on the list for Fat at +153 lbs. He added 2,400 daughters to his proof and jumped 58 NM$ points to an impressive +1375 NM$. He is proven to make long lasting daughters that milk and have beautiful udders as he combines +2360 lbs of Milk with +1.50 UDC and +5.3 PL. CAPTAIN was also the Top Proven LPI and Pro$ Sire in Canada at +3761 GLPI and +$2793 Pro$ and he maintains his status in the UK leading all proven sires for PLI.
In Canada, JOHNBOY is the #3 Proven LPI Sire at +3708 GLPI and he balances out his intriguing profile with +11 CONF, +94 kg Fat, +77 kg Prot and A2A2. DAWSON was again the top sire on the Top 100 Holstein Bulls for Milk in Canada at +3415 kg Milk. Global favorite Delta-LAMBDA also ranked high among Proven LPI sires at +3673 GLPI. The Delta-LAMBDA legacy lives on through his sons, LIQUIDCOURAGE and LUCKY BREAK both from CAUGHT YOUR EYE, 3-time class winner at World Dairy Expo in Madison, and RANGEFINDER from the Bosdale Rose family. Amongst the additions to its lineup, STgenetics® Canada is introducing a new Legend™ sire, BJORN (Fellowship x CAPTAIN) who is an impressive +3896 GPA-LPI, +3136 PRO$ and +8 CONF. BJORN provides an impressive genetic package from a deep cow pedigree.

Following the April Genetic Evaluation, STgenetics® released 50 exciting new bulls to the market. This group included 16 Legend™ sires, 21 sires over +1200 NM$, 29 sires over +3100 GTPI, 17 sires over +1300 for Eco$, 3 Red sires, 3 STyle™ sires, 2 Polled sires. Forty of these 50 sires are also A2A2. Among these new releases are: DARTH VADER, ENDURANCE, KING P, DRUMROLL and MORRIS-RED. These five Legend™ sires represent the outstanding genetic progress and diversity STgenetics® strives to provide dairy breeders with every day.
DARTH VADER, a THORSON son, is the highest available GTPI and NM$ bull at +3342 GTPI and +1482 NM$. He is also the highest Eco$ bull and is +258 CFP and +1.70 UDC. ENDURANCE is another breed leading Net Merit bull at +1409 NM$. He is a GARZA son and provides +174 lbs and .38% Fat and +81 lbs and .10% Prot along with +5.3 PL, ENDURANCE is a standout for Net Merit, longevity and production.
KING P enters the market as the top GTPI and NM$ Polled bull at +3236 GTPI and +1336 NM$. KING P is a THORSON son who provides the A2A2 and BB genes and is +1380 CM$, +6.4 PL and an EcoFeed®heifer sire. DRUMROLL combines a great amount of economic and conformation traits, he is the only bull in the industry over +3200 GTPI at +3244 and 3 points in Udder Composite at +3.17 UDC. He is a high Type sire that will make stylish daughters with great feet and legs at +2.88 GPTAT and +1.76 FLC. Finally, the fifth member of this group is MORRIS-RED, a REDLEA*RC son who secures the #1 title for highest GTPI and NM$ Red bull in the industry. With +2166 lbs of Milk, +207 CFP, +6.0 PL and exceptional RUH and RUW scores, MORRIS-RED is the complete Red & White package.
DELUXE made nice gains on the Top 100 International TPI® Bulls list, rising to the #10 spot, while newcomers COWEN and EPPY were at #12 and #14. At +3048 TPI, DELUXE brings a perfect combination of production and type to any breeding program at +1821 Milk, +144 Fat, +70 Prot and +1.81 PTAT. COWEN is +3042 TPI, +2155 Milk, +148 and +.22% Fat, +84 and +.06% Prot. EPPY is another high Milk sire with outstanding health traits at +3038 TPI, +2378 Milk, +1103 NM$, +5.7 PL and +2.0 LIV.
UPSIDE and OUTCOME also held steady on the TPI® list while adding daughters to their proof. A CHARL son, UPSIDE is +3033 TPI, +1171 NM$, +1178 CM$ and +5.8 PL. He is also A2A2 and an EcoFeed®cow sire at +108 for Feed Conversion Efficiency in lactating cows. OUTCOME is the highest UDC sire in the top 16 at +2.23 and provides +1.50 for PTAT and +150 CFP.
TAMPA consistently remains towards the top of the TPI list at +3024 TPI. He is one of the top Productive Life sires on the Top 100 International TPI® Bulls List at +6.8 PL. TAMPA is an intriguing combination of health and production traits at +2339 lbs of Milk, +1088 NM$, +1092 CM$, +70 lbs of Protein, +2.2 DPR, A2A2 and is EcoFeed®cow designated.
HOLDON, another CHARL son, is following in his father’s footsteps at +3022 TPI. He is +1186 NM$, +1199 CM$ and +101 lbs Fat and +69 lbs Protein and is an EcoFeed®plus sire that excels in health traits being +6.0 PL and 2.58 SCS.
RAPID has been a long-time sire on the TPI list and was the #25 sire at +3022 TPI. He is a Balanced Breeding Sire with a Type and Udder Composite of +2.31 PTAT & +1.89 UDC. RAPID carries the A2A2 gene and is EcoFeed®heifer for Feed Conversion Efficiency in the growing stage in heifers.
DORAL-RED is now a Proven ALTITUDE-RED son. At +2.82 PTAT, +2.50 UDC, +1392 Milk +42 Prot & BB, DORAL-RED’s genetic offering is creating stylish, balanced heifers who are developing into beautiful milking daughters that are performing well in the barn and in the showring around the world.
STgenetics® had a very solid day with their Jersey lineup. SUGAR DADDY added 200 milking daughters and increased 21 JPI points to +183, which makes him the #6 Proven JPI Sire in the breed. He also jumped to +760 for CM$ and is an impressive production sire at +1291 lbs of Milk, +101 lbs of Fat and +71 lbs of Prot. SUGAR DADDY’s influence on the STgenetics® program flows through with his son CLASSIC. At +189 JPI, +780 CM$, +1747 Milk and +10.3 JUI, CLASSIC will be an incredibly impactful bull in the industry.
STONE B is the STgenetics® leader in CM$ at +830. This Stoney son is +14.5 JUI and +1.2 PTAT making him a breeder satisfaction sire. Overall, the STgenetics® Jersey lineup has 9 bulls over +169 JPI with 6 different sires creating growing diversity in the Jersey program.
In the Brown Swiss breed, TESLA and JOEY continue to impress. At +199 PPR and +662 CM$, TESLA combines a breed leading +72 lbs of Fat, +64 lbs of Prot with a +0.7 PTAT to provide milk and profits from wide chested, powerful, eye appealing cows with very good udders.
Close behind TESLA is JOEY at +197 PPR, who excels in Cheese Merit at +683 CM$. He is also +67 lbs of Fat and +56 lbs of Prot, while providing great health traits at +3.4 PL, + 0.3 DPR and a leader for mastitis resistance at +2.5. STgenetics® is excited to release SASUKE, who offers purple banner type being +.8 PTAT and +1.32 UDC. He is also +960 lbs of Milk and +374 CM$.
Another exciting new Colored Breed release is the top CM$ sire in the Guernsey breed, OTHELLO, at +613 CM$, +641 lbs of Milk, +42 lbs of Fat and 25 lbs of Prot with an outstanding +6.1 PL and +2.3 Livability. Finally, he is in the top 1% of the breed at +2.5 DPR and displays a +0.6 PTAT.
All of these sires and the entire STgenetics® lineup are available in Ultraplus™ gender-sorted semen, which according to the 2023 National Association of Animal Breeders (NAAB) semen sales report, now leads the way among semen sales. Dairy gender-sorted semen topped the sales chart at 8.4 million units, followed by Beef on Dairy at 7.9 million units and conventional dairy semen was third at 7 million units sold.
